Written by igcompany on Sunday, 27 June 2010 19:16.

Game Information

It?s one of the most instantly recognisable titles for any format, and the DancingStage craze shows no sign of abating. As more and more people are learning about DancingStage, Konami has moved to create a title that caters for both newcomers and seasoned pros alike.

SuperNOVA now has a Tutorial mode that will take first time players on a step-by-step guide through the intricacies of the game. They?ll learn how to use the dance mat controller (sold separately) and get used to the way the game works while being taught about the different game modes.

Players who have a few years of experience under their dancing shoes will be pleased to see the ?Stellar Master? mode that has been added. Quite simply, it?s the toughest DancingStage challenge ever set and will require all of the fleet-footed skills the player has. There's also now a 'Battle Mode' where players can compete in a dance-off against one another. The player with the best timing and spot-on control is the one who will triumph.

With a wide mix of custom made songs and popular chart classics to play through, including hits like ?Romeo? by Basement Jaxx, Lady Sovereign?s ?Hoodie?, ?Right Here, Right Now? by Fat Boy Slim and A-ha?s classic ?Take on Me?. Videos accompany these tracks and play in the background as the player is dancing.

If that?s not enough, the game is EyeToy compatible so players will also be required to move their arms in time with the music ? thus upping the need for greater coordination!

Features
  • Latest installment of the best selling franchise
  • Over 50 specially created tracks and chart favourites
  • New tutorial mode for beginners
  • Extra ?Stellar Master? mode for the real pros
  • Battle mode and EyeToy compatibility

Death Jr. 2: Root of Evil Preview(PS2)

Written by igcompany on Monday, 14 June 2010 14:41.

Game Information

The Son of Death returns and once again, DJ and Pandora are up to their old tricks in this newest PSP adventure. The evil Furi, previously cocooned along with all of her evil powers has been awoken by our duo, putting not only their town at risk, but also the safety of DJ?s own father. Now the pair must stop Furi from unleashing her, well, fury on the land.

There have been a host of improvements since the original Death Jr. was released. After listening to feedback from players, the camera angle has been refined and enables players to easily cope with the situations thrown at them without ever losing momentum. The graphics, although some of the most stylish on PSP, have also improved with some impressive new techniques enabling incredibly atmospheric lighting effects and crisp, colourful animations.

Perhaps the biggest addition is the two-player co-operative mode that now been added. Once the host player has selected either DJ or Pandora, the second player can pick from a raft of new playable characters and into the game they go. The beauty of this mode is that the game has been tweaked to incorporate two players, so enemies are tougher as there are two people attacking them! Effectively, it?s almost an entirely different game as you must use teamwork and different attack plans to progress.

The creativity used throughout the game also continues to impress ? there are a huge variety of different levels to play through ranging from your standard forest levels through to a stage made entirely of food. But all of the unusual stages compliment the story completely and the dark sense of humour and evil undertones flow effortlessly through this fantastic game.

Features
  • Fantastic level design and environments
  • New camera angle implemented following feedback from players
  • Two-player cooperative mode acts like a second full game
  • Unusual weapons ? Flaming Toilet Paper Gun and Explosive Hamsters!
  • Top quality soundtrack adds to the experience

Silent Hill Collection Preview(PS2)

Written by igcompany on Monday, 14 June 2010 14:08.

Game Information

Konami is releasing all three PlayStation 2 Silent Hill games as part of a cut-price Limited Edition box set. Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, and Silent Hill 4: The Room will be re-launched to coincide with the Hollywood film starring Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, The Dark) and directed by Christophe Gans (Brotherhood of the Wolf). If you?ve yet to brave the horrors that lie beyond the fog in Silent Hill, there has never been a better time.

Each game is linked to the mysterious town of Silent Hill, a mist-covered and deserted place where misshapen creatures lurk in the shadows and abandoned buildings. It was first visited in the PSOne title of the same name in 1999, before the three sequels made the leap to PlayStation 2 and added larger play areas and more grotesque imagery.

All of Konami?s Silent Hill games are famed for their potent mix of puzzle-solving, exploration and jump-out-of-your-skin combat elements. Beautifully-realised and haunting cinematic cut scenes reveal new twists in the plot as the mystery of Silent Hill is developed.

In Silent Hill 2, James Sunderland's life is shattered when his young wife Mary suffers a tragic death. Three years later, a mysterious letter arrives from Mary, beckoning him to return to their sanctuary of memories, the dark realm of Silent Hill.

Silent Hill 3 begins with a young girl called Heather innocently shopping in a sprawling mall, only to find herself transported to Silent Hill for reasons linked to her childhood. The gradual transformation of the shopping mall into the rotting locations of the town is eerily conveyed.

Silent Hill 4: The Room is the most claustrophobic entry to the series. A young man called Henry Townshend finds himself trapped in his apartment, unable to contact anyone outside. A large portal has appeared in his bathroom that leads him to Silent Hill and a terrifying plot that could see the town's inhuman denizens invading our dimension. As the town's evil seeps through the portal, Townshend?s apartment starts to decay.

Features
  • Experience the three PS2 adventures that inspired the Hollywood film
  • This classic trilogy of survival horror games together for the first time
  • Keep your calm and solve puzzles while being stalked by mutants
  • Watch in horror as your home is decayed by evil before your very eyes

Game Information

Spread over three discs, featuring an advanced version of the original MGS3, a completely new online mode, the original two MSX Metal Gear games so you can see where it all started and a host of other options, this is simply a must have title.

Disc one holds the massively enhanced version of Hideo Kojima's acclaimed Snake Eater title. The familiar 'Camouflage Index' where Snake adapts his look to blend into the surroundings and the Close Quarters Combat fighting system both remain, but new to Subsistence however is a 3D camera feature. This allows players to view the action from virtually any angle they like, a technique that Kojima Productions will also be using in the forthcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 for PS3. A demo theatre is also included on the disc where players can watch any of the game's fantastic cut-scenes.

The second disc takes the Metal Gear experience to a whole new level. The addition of the full online mode is the biggest feature, answering the requests of countless Metal Gear fans. Using the PS2's Network Adapter, up to eight players can compete online for the first time ever in a MG game. Online modes include 'Sneaking Missions', 'Capture Missions', 'Rescue Missions', 'Death Matches' and 'Team Death Matches', which will allow participants to battle against each other in real-time environments.
