Written by igcompany on Saturday, 14 November 2009 22:08.

Rome: Total War™ is an epic-scale strategy game that invites you to experience the grandeur, glory and brutality that was ancient Rome. Encompassing three centuries of warfare from the Punic Wars to the death of Augustus, the game captures the excitement and challenge of conquering and ruling the Roman Empire. Using military might, diplomacy, subterfuge and assassination, this is a struggle to reach and retain the Imperial throne.

But that's no small feat. Along the way, you'll have to dodge assassins' knives, build and govern cities, train and command armies, obey the wishes of the Senate (some of the time), stage gladiator games, and face many other challenges and surprises.

Featuring next-generation gameplay potential-including the ability to command armies of thousands at once during cinematic real-time 3D battles - this is a game of total involvement, total commitment - and total war.

The Rome: Total War Gold Edition also includes the Rome Total War - Alexander expansion pack, allowing you to match or beat the achievements of history's most venerated general.

Boasting more than 30 hours of gameplay, this expansion features a brand new campaign played out on a specially extended map covering Macedonia, Greece and the whole of the ancient Persian Empire. The pack also includes six new historical battles that unlock sequentially, portraying Alexander’s most significant conflicts with Greek, Persian and Indian forces. These historical battles are also playable online or across a LAN with up to 17 multiplayer battle setups.

President of EA Games Label Frank Gibeau recently discussed the successful relaunching of its Need for Speed franchise during the company's investor call this afternoon. Gibeau also added the publisher hopes to continue breathing new life into many of its core blockbuster titles.

"In the months ahead, you'll hear more about our plans to revitalize core intellectual property, including the Medal of Honor franchise," Gibeau stated.

* The last Medal of Honor game was released in 2007 and most websites rated the game above-avarage. But the result was different, less support and bad gameplay. What can be expect?
