Splintercell Chaos Theory review

Written by Blackjack on 24 July 2010.

In Chaos Theory to the gamers back to a Sam Fisher still in its old familiar night-vision goggles and high-tech gadgets combats with terrorists, even starting the first cracks between Sam and his department already visible. International conflict between Japan, China and North Korea plays in the background (which is also happening in 2008).

Sam Fisher is reason enough for the most different places to send this mess to fix. In terms of levels the game is pretty diverse. The Splinter Cell series is known for its exquisite graphics, but we obviously do have a title for the original Xbox, not Xbox 360. The result is mixed. The cutscenes are reasonable, the menus and briefings eyes rather thin, but the ingame graphics are surprisingly well preserved.

Multiple Routes

In terms of gameplay is that Chaos Theory was the first game that offers more freedom in the Splinter Cell formula. Depending on your playing style you can choose a different equipment (eg more ammunition with which you have). Still running this particular Splinter Cell to infiltrate undetected. Caution is therefore required. There is plenty to steal and investigations and a lot of interaction with objects in the background. There are also several roads that lead to your goal.
Which route you choose, opponents and obstacles are always there. The AI of the opponents is smart, but not too. In the dark, you come away with a lot of good action, but in the light you vulnerable. Terrorists summon and sharp shooting. First strike is a must.

Moreover, Sam nimble enough enemies quickly, quietly and stylish the silence. The exciting storyline and diversity of missions and environments ensure that Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory you still can enjoy hours.
